Every company has some departments, and it is fundamental to integrate every of these sections to work uniformly. SAP software integrates all internal operations by means of various modules. The advanced SAP technology enables R/3 to deal with business management works throughout every of the segments of the organization. Any change in the organisational structure can be easy pondered by the SAP technology, and it offers space for the expansion. Both decentralization and centralization of procedures can be done efficiently if the organisation has set up SAP software. Irrespective of the size of the business, SAP helps the organisation to prepare all its business activities.

Components of SAP

Equally with any software system, SAP has a elementary system also known as the kernel. This is the engine of the entire R/3 system liable for taking out all functionalities. The screen interpreter checks user input and displays error messages. This takes the input fed to the system and transfers the input to the ABAP/4 interpreter. This interpreter executes the instructions written in ABAP/4 programming language which was used to develop SAP. The SAP system also has a data dictionary for storing all types of definitions used in various modules. Flow control is handled by as a separate component which maintains perfect data flow inside the system. Interfaces connect the software with the outside environment enabling communication between the user and the system.

Modules of SAP

For any business, logistics, accounting, and human resources are the three essential departments carrying out the entire business process. SAP has separate modules for each of these departments and these modules help the organization to execute the business management tasks. SAP enables customization, making the software suitable for any organizing doing any type of business.

Logistic modules

The business processes like sales and distribution handling (SD), material management (MM), production planning (PP), plant maintenance (PM), and quality management (QM) are taken care of by logistic modules. Any organization will require most of these modules if not all. Materials used for production are handled by the MM module. PP and PM modules ensure that the production process works as required. QM module is used to handle quality assurance of the product. The ultimate aim of any organization is to sell its products and hence, SD module is an important module in the SAP system.

Accounting modules

Accounting is important for an organization and the SAP accounting modules automate the accounts department. The FI module handles all accountings like ledgers, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements. Asset management is also carried out by the FI module. The controlling functionality is carried out by the CO module which controls not only the costs but also the objectives of the company. Enterprise controlling (EC) module takes care of integration of company information and external markets to devise efficient marketing strategy.

Human resources modules

Among the various departments, the HR department is crucial for an organization. The personal administration (PA) module of the SAP system takes care of maintaining the records of all the staff. Any department can get access to these data and this module makes the updated data available throughout the system. The personnel planning and development (PD) module incorporates all that is essential for managing the man power of the organization.

Trains have been an important mode of transportation for several decades now. It is an efficient and cost effective mode of transport. Trains play a major role in the growth and development of the economy of any nation by transporting people, goods and services from one place to another.

The trains have undergone tremendous change over the years in the search for better ways to make it more cost effective and a better and more comfortable mode of transport. From the earlier steam trains which were powered by steam which was generated by burning coal, we have come to the present day electric trains that are very efficient and quick. Electric trains have come to dominate the transportation scene and today it is a chosen mode of transport.

The electric trains made an entry on the transportation scene after the Second World War and soon in a phased manner replaced the steam train. The first electric passenger train was designed in the year 1879 by Werner Von Siemens, a German engineer. The electric train was displayed at the Berlin Trade Fair and could carry approximately 30 people and could travel at a speed of 4.5 miles per hour. Electric trains were found to be a superior version of the then existing steam trains. The electric trains were much faster, more efficient and were also more cost-effective. Being a cost-effective mode of transport the electric trains work out to be a much cheaper option for the passengers as well.

The electric trains are also environment friendly being absolutely pollution free. Considering the levels of pollution we definitely would not want to worsen the situation further and so electric trains would be the best option. Electric trains have come to be a good option of transport that is not only affordable but also fast and is suitable for any kind of terrain.

We have come a long way from the first electric train which is very evident from the fact that the fastest electric passenger train in the world is the French TGV which has an average speed of 132 mph.

The electric train is one that is run with the use of electricity. The electricity that is used for powering the train may be created from any source. This electricity may be created with the help of a diesel engine, windmills or even hydroelectric power.

The electricity is transmitted through overhead lines, battery or third rail which in turn makes the train run. In case of electric trains the electricity is generated using any of the sources and then is stored in the batteries or ultra capacitators which is then used to power the wheels.

The electric trains have proved to be a more efficient and cost effective option as compared to the earlier steam engines. The first electric passenger train was built in the year 1879 by Werner Von Siemens who was a German engineer. The electric trains of today are much superior to its earlier counterparts as they have been improved upon to keep up with the changing times.

As a result of using electricity to power its movement the electric trains are really fast. They are also environment friendly as they do not cause any pollution. Electricity being what powers the electric trains it works out cheaper for not only those who operate it but also those who use it for traveling. Due to the convenience and comfort that it offers the electric trains have gained popularity as the chosen mode of transport.

The present day diesel electric trains that we see today use the same principle wherein the electricity is created or generated using the diesel engine. This electricity is then stored in batteries which is then used to power the train. The diesel electric train uses technology to combine the benefits of both the diesel and electric train and thus, is a result of the developments in technology.

SAP R/3? What on Earth is that? Well if you are enquiring those particular queries presentlythen you are not alone. Many people when they first hear those set of letters wonder the corresponding thing. SAP R/3 really is the previous name of the company planning software which is produced by SAP AG set in Germany. The current name of this software is now SAP ERP.

The really original version of the SAP company software comprised of a financial Accounting type of programme known as R/1. The combining of the 3 letters consisting of S-A-P was at long last substituted with the R/2 at the close of 1970. SAP R/2 was software developed for a mainframe computer system and ordinarily operated on systems such as the IBM S-390 Enterprise mainframe computer. This software package proved to be super versatile and worked flawlessly during the 80 s and the early 90 s.

These software modules were peculiarly pop with the bigger European organizations which real time applications with various capabilities. It was not long before the successes of the original software prompt the SAP Ag Company to widen its products and therefore it took out the SAP R/3 which was in full multiple platforms capable. This new software worked on a few platforms such as Microsoft Windows and the ever so pop UNIX systems. From 1992 onward SAP controlled the business application market on up to 2002.

The actual beauty connected with the SAP R/3 software is that it is created to operate as various modules that in effect offered support for many of the organisational procedure often found in today’s modern businesses. These functions went from Finances and Control, Human Resources, Materials Management Branch, Sales & Distribution, as well as the Production Planning department.

Every Last module was produced to handles only specific business orientated jobs yet all the modules were at last linked to each other. As an example, billing section could publish an invoice which would be addressed to the accounting division and would appear in those departments accounts receivable.

Combined with the greatest multi-powered S-390 Mainframe computer this system presented the ultimate software for business management. It could in effect be cross platformed without whatsoever kind of data lose at all. In another words you could well use the Mainframe as your central processing equipment and safely import various informations from your personalized servers disregardless of the platform that they were using.

The different SAP specialized modules are programmed for coordination within reliable business segments such as retail or utility roles.

Alas in order to practice all of these awesome features one would have to pay in a heartfelt way for the associated license fees. The goal of SAP when it comes to their software growth is that they require to supply a good deal more efficient product for the corporation than would be manageable for them to actual attempt to create on their own.

The structure of the SAP R/3 has been programed by practicing the copyrighted language unremarkably recognized as Advanced Business Applications Programming or only ABAP. This is a forth generation programing language which supplies a strong subset of programs liable of providing complete procedures for management and analyzes. Although all the modules were fabricated to perform unitedly each and every 1 can operate alone.

Very Much could be handwritten on this software package nevertheless due to the various Custom configurations that could be set up it would take numerous pages to provide a mere scratching of the surface. To better know this package you should sit down with a illustration and tell them what your organization really needs in the way of company solutions.

As a bookman engaged in SAP education the first affair you are require to visualize is that acquiring proper SAP certification is important concern and thus before taking a class you must use due diligence. SAP is a German party and the term refers to Systems; Applications; Products involved in informations processing. SAP is being applied all over the world with up to 10,000,000 users in close to one hundred and twenty countries making use of it.

In case you need to have proficiency in SAP and you desire a switch in career; you need to first of all picture the proper mechanism of how SAP training is imparted. This will ensure that you know in advance what expectations to expect and likewise acknowledge how to go on these expected values at a practical level.

Pay Heed To Curriculum, Not Cost

Alas, at present there are zero restrictive bodies that are preparing the criteria for what forms proper SAP training courses and nor is any one determining the proper standard of course curriculum. It will pay therefore to be in full aware of different quantities and qualities of the different deliverables needed. It will also pay to avoid a really familiar pitfall which is to compare other SAP education classes and then base your judgment solely on costs at the expense of actual program.

A couple of the regions of interest as far as SAP training goes include financials; human resources; supplier relationship management; business intelligence, and very much more.

Ask For Advice

You too require to make an effort to request advice as to which the best SAP training class is. Naturally, there are no more biscuit cutter results accessible cause too many several agents are going to work their section in this regard. All The Same, you will want to do your best to get as much data as possible so that SAP is less puzzled and your options clearer.

The truth of the fact is that SAP is moderately flexible which implies that it is for certain possible that you will be capable to apply single software and configure it to accommodate various industries. Nonetheless, on some other hand, unless you have put in a lot of effort in operating your subject, you won’t be in a easy position to decently respond to questions put to you by interviewers that are employing SAP masters. It is consequently required that you look for a school that employs instructors that are experienced and educated so that you are assured of right instructions that will assist you pass further and maybe, harder job interviews.

It is also needed that you see that the programme at a school offering SAP training classes and certification was not truncated and is the complete and actual class. Be sure as well that you dont enroll in the wrong school cause then you would fall victim to the chance of getting one more SAP professional that is unemployed – even after having spent good cash on taking a SAP education class.

Costs

The price of SAP training is another main and key element when it concerns proper SAP education course, and how much you end up paying mostly depends on the number of people studying that class, the cash paid by way of earning to teachers, venue as well as software applied; and, cost of training material likewise will influence the ultimate cost. Bookman to teacher proportion is other critical factor worth seeing at. Too many educatee to a teacher will mean less chance to get personal care; too few bookman would imply that the school may not find it possible to carry on their courses.

Some Other fundamental aspects to receiving proper SAP education courses are the study material used (should not be condensed); and, developing right chance to use is central to correct SAP education. Bookman should too be gave projects to heighten their knowledge to complement classes.

Practice Diligently

The bottom line is that to have the most out of SAP coaching you will need to see that you apply diligently. Do not fall for the myth that no earlier is your SAP coaching class finished than you will have a job instantly. The truth is that it likewise requires doing 100s of hrs of good practise to become ready to confront the challenges of a problem. Simply then will you succeed in putting theory to practice.

by Ernest Perry

In this article I am going to be talking to you about the S-scale or the S-gauge model train. This is a model train thats scale is 1:64 in size. It’s popular because it fits between the HO and O model train scales. It can meet the requirements on a scale which is larger then the HO scale, which is considered too small for many hardcore model train fanatics.

It is how ever smaller then the O scale for model trains, which is good because it allows your track layouts to be laid out in a smaller area of space. As we all know, space can be at a premium when it comes to model trains and having space around the home. There is nothing more annoying then having a vision for your model train layout but not having enough room to implement it.

The S-gauge series of model trains has been around for nearly 100 years, but it did not really become popular until the creation of the re designed American Flyer model of trains. These were first produced by a company called A C Gilbert. They were based in Connecticut in the USA in the mid 1930′s. Funnily enough it was one of the companies that was not hit hard by the recession, which just goes to prove how crazy we model railroaders really are!

The American Flyer model train, the train that has become so popular started its life out as a clockwork model train. It then became later an electric train. At this point it was dramatically redesigned to fit its new power mode. Gilbert’s design for the new American Flyer was a huge hit. The American Flyer and the model trains build by A C Gilbert were built on the S-scale, how ever they ran on the O-gauge tracks which were standard at that time.

A decade or so later, A C Gilbert changed it up again. They designed and re designed it. They re designed the tracks for the S-scale model trains. Taking it away from the more traditional 3 track rails which were the ones used in the electric model trains of the day.

In general the three track rail back then would have two outer tracks for the wheels of the model train, and then the 3rd track in the middle would be the one carrying the current from the electricity to power the model trains motor.

The three track model was not very similar to the real thing how ever the two track rails were very similar and become very popular. The two track rails had a more realistic look to them and they made the layouts seem more real. This is because they were starting to look like real train tracks.

These tracks were developed for the smaller S-scale model trains and it allowed the model train tracks to have more realistic layouts with more curves and curves of different radius’s. This was much better to run the popular and newly re designed American Flyer on.

Most of the baby boomer S-scale fanatics would have had their first taste of that scale with the hugely popular American Flyer model train back in the 50′s. This was a very popular Christmas present. At this time, the American Flyer was also competing with another popular model train series, the Lionel model train. These two were the big dogs in the market at the time.

The S-scale model trains are still very popular including the American Flyer. They are rising in popularity with the younger generation. The Lionel company purchased the model train type from the people who purchased the American Flyer from A C Gilbert. The Lionel company was in very deep financial strife in the 60′s and 70′s and it went through many different sets of hands. The Lionel company still operates today, but its a totally different company from what it was.

There are still many different organizations out there today who cater to those who are interested int he S-scale model of trains. There is actually a national association called “The National Association Of S-Gaugers.”

They do have a very active membership with people ranging from all ages. If you Google them you will find their website. They have activities, a newsletter, events they hold and of course suppliers for S-model enthusiasts. They have associations in the US, UK and Australia and probably more but I could not find any. There are even some Yahoo Groups on the subject.

S-scale is still one of the fastest growing scales that is within the model train industry and it’s not going away any time soon. It’s actually growing quicker then any other scale. It works on such less space compared to that of the HO scale. S-scale products are reliable and they are still very accurate.

It might have been a checkered past for the S-scale model train, but it’s not going anywhere soon and its a good way to start with your model train hobby.

This is a pretty common problem with railroaders, no matter how experienced they may be. It can be quite an annoying problem as well if it happens often, but it is fixable. There is no doubt that derailments will happen especially in the designing stages of your track layout, it will even happen with excessive speed on occasion.

Its when it happens constantly in the one spot that there is a problem. This means something very specific is wrong.

If regular derailments keep happening in the same spot and you are about to rip your hair out, don’t stress just yet. You first need to determine exactly where its happening. If it happens that your train derails on a curve, don’t just assume the curve is too extreme. It could be that the wheels could be hitting something on the track.

Take all the cars off the locomotive and run it without any excess. If it still derails. If it runs ok, add more cars to see if its one of them that is the problem. Check the track thoroughly as well.

If your track is uneven, this will also cause the train to constantly derail. This could lead to bumps and loose bits of track that will knock your train off its tracks. This happens when you are using tables and the connection between the two table is not even.

Also make sure that the switches are running properly. You may just need to clean the rails and the frog. Even the smallest tiniest bit of dirt in just the right, or wrong spot will derail your train every time.

Part of the appeal of customer-centricity is that it takes very little business acumen to grasp its core concept. Focus intensely on customers, align your products or services with their interests, and voila: a customer-centric culture is born. Simple, right? Not quite. Becoming a truly customer-centric organization is perhaps one of the most difficult transitions an organization can make, fraught with hidden obstacles and unanticipated challenges. Here are three potential roadblocks on the path to a customer-centric strategy, and how to get around them.

Failing to understand your most valuable customer A customer-centric strategy is only as good as its customers. You cant let the average customer dictate what you do, says Robert Duboff, CEO of Hawk Partners LLC and coauthor of the book Market Research Matters. Generally speaking, Duboff says, 20 percent of a company’s customer base generates 80 percent of its profits. Given that split, its imperative to put your most valuable customers at the heart of your approach.

Identifying those customers need not take exhaustive research and complicated measures. It can be a fairly straightforward process, as it is with the Net Promoter Score, or NPS, a metric developed by Bain & Co.s Fred Reichheld. As set forth in The Ultimate Question written by Reichheld and published by Harvard Business Press the NPS approach consists of one simple question: On a scale of one to 10, would you recommend us to your friends?

Based on the answer to that question, customers are segmented into three categories: promoters, who actively champion a particular product to their friends and colleagues; passives, who are lukewarm about the product; and detractors, the opposite of promoters. A given company’s score is simply the difference between its number of promoters and its number of detractors.

NPS has proven to be a powerful tool for such companies as General Electric Capital Solutions, which has used it not only to identify customers that are already valuable promoters but to gain insights into how it can convert detractors. For a business like GE Capital Solutions, which serves more than 1 million very diverse customers in many different industries, NPS helps us better understand what our customers are feeling and how we can improve their experience with us, says Stephen White, a spokesperson for GE Capital.

Failing to support your external customer-centric strategy with an internal customer-centric strategy Speaking of valuable customers, what about that most priceless customer of all your employee?

While most companies aren’t in the habit of regarding their employees as customers, those seeking to instill a customer-centric culture should rethink their stance, argues Elaine Berke, president of Westport, MAbased EBI Consulting, which specializes in helping organizations develop customer-centric strategies. Customer-centricity needs to come from the inside out, says Berke. Leadership must avoid a double standard that makes it OK for managers to argue with or demean staff while still being courteous and considerate to external customers.

Consider the case of the world-renowned Johns Hopkins University Hospital. In developing a comprehensive Service Excellence initiative aimed at boosting its level of patient care, the hospital included employee satisfaction as a core component of the program. The hospital conducted an extensive survey to gauge employee concerns that turned up such simple, actionable insights as making it a point to compliment co-workers and instituting criticism-free no negativity days.

Customer-centric organizations value and respect internal customers as much as external customers, says Berke. Like the old saying goes, If you’re not serving a customer, you’re serving someone who is.

Failure to identify the moment of truth Companies spend considerable time and resources developing metrics for processes, execution and other day-to-day functions but often overlook defining their moments of truth those points at which a customer interacts with a company’s product or service and forms an impression. Companies are usually very good at creating metrics around [such procedures as] production deliverables but have a much harder time knowing how to create and measure standards relating to the quality of customer service being delivered, Keith Bailey of Sterling Consulting Group says.

In defining a company’s moments of truth, Bailey suggests looking at three different angles quality of product, quality of procedures and quality of relationships. Taking a hotel as an example, the quality of the product would be the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. The quality of procedures would be such factors as how it long it takes to check in or how long customers wait for room service. The quality of relationship would be the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Considering each angle separately allows a company to isolate the negative moments of truth within each and develop a game plan for turning them into positive experiences. Procter & Gamble, for example, identified its moment of truth as that instant when a shopper picks up one of its products and decides whether or not to purchase its decision the customer makes in an average of six seconds. The company has overhauled its marketing with that insight in mind, creating a global First Moment of Truth business team designed to win over the customer in that moment.

There are as many different customer-centric approaches as there are customers, and each has its own unique challenges, but the road to a truly customer-centric strategy always begins with the same steps.

Every company has many sections, and it is essential to integrate all of these sections to work uniformly. SAP software integrates all internal operations by means of different modules. The advance SAP technology enables R/3 to deal with business management processes throughout all the departments of the company. Whatsoever change in the organisational structure can be easily pondered by the SAP technology, and it provides space for the expansion. Both decentralization and centralization of operations can be done efficiently if the organisation has installed SAP software. Irrespective of the size of the business, SAP serves the company to prepare all its business activities.

Components of SAP

Equally with any software system, SAP has a primary system addressed as the kernel. This is the engine of the entire R/3 system trusted for carrying out every last functionalities.
